WIFT FINLAND IN ENGLISH

Women in Film & Television Finland is politically independent, cultural and professional non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote its members’ professional activities, education, professional achievements, networking, and to act as a promoter of Finnish film, television and the moving image culture from the gender equality perspective.


Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI) is a global network comprised of over 40 chapters worldwide and over 14,000 members dedicated to advancing professional development and achievement for women working in all areas of film, video, and other screen-based media.

Membership

Anyone who is interested in promoting gender equality in the Finnish audiovisual industry can apply for a membership of WIFT Finland. As our member you have access to the member-only events and support our work for equality. Apply for membership from the link below. The link will open in new window.

New memberships will be accepted at regular intervals by the board of the association. Please, don’t be alarmed if you don’t get an immediate confirmation of your registration. We will let you know as soon as the board of the association has met and approved your membership. 

In 2024 the membership fee is 35 euros per year. Members whose main income is supplementary benefit will be charged 25 euros a year

You may also join the association as a supporting member. The membership fee for supporting members is 100 euros a year. Individuals and organisations with legal capacity, that accept the purpose of the association, are eligible to join as supporting members. Supporting members have the right to take the floor and present proposals at the association’s meetings, get membership letters and participate in the activities of the association. Supporting members cannot vote at the association’s meetings. 

The association also accepts community members. The membership fee for community members is at least 70 euros a year. Individuals and organisations with legal capacity who are working closely with the association and taking part in its projects and events are eligible to join as community members. With community members the association produces joint events, do research and practice other publishing, release communal statements to increase equality and share information about the state of equality in the field. If a community member registers as a regular member of the association, they are eligible to join the board of the association.
